Turkey (tour. Türkiye), officially Turkish Republic (tour. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti) is a state located mainly in Western Asia and partially (about 3% of the territory, 20% of the population) in Southern Europe (Eastern Thrace). Population - 79.4 million people. (2016), the area of the territory is 783,562 km² (it ranks 18th in the world in terms of population and 36th in territory). The state language is Turkish.

Turkey is located in the eastern hemisphere. Its area (including inland waters) is 779,452 km². Part of the territory of Turkey - 97% - is located in Asia and 3% - in Europe. The geographical feature of Turkey is its location at the crossroads of important routes connecting the Europe and Asia with the antiquity, the Black Sea countries and peoples with the Mediterranean. Climate

Religion
In Turkey, religion is legally separated from the state and freedom of religion is guaranteed to every resident of the country.
