Kuwait (Arabic. كويت), officially the State of Kuwait (Arabic: دولة الكويت; Davlat al-Kuwait) is the state (emirate) in southwest Asia. It borders with Iraq in the north and west, with Saudi Arabia in the south. From the east it is washed by the Persian Gulf. The capital is the city of Al Kuwait.
Geography
The city is located on the low southern coast of the bay of the same name - the only deep-water harbor on the western coast of the Persian Gulf. The city is divided into three zones: industrial (in the western suburb of El-Shuvaykh), educational (where the Kuwait University is located, schools and research institutions) and recreational (extends along the coastal road to the city of Al-Jahra).
Climate
Kuwait’s climate is exceptionally hot. It is subtropical desert and is characterized by extremely high temperatures in summer. Summer average highs rarely fall below +45 ° C, sometimes rising to + 50 ... + 55 ° C in the shade. Rainfall during the summer period is excluded, because of extremely high temperatures there are dust storms. Winter is characterized by changeable weather. All rare precipitation occurs in the autumn-winter period, when the city reaches rare cyclones, mainly from the Indian Ocean.
Population
Population - 4 588 148 people (estimate for June 2018). Of these, the indigenous people are Kuwaiti Arabs, which are only those who can prove their Kuwaiti genealogical roots since 1920, constitute 34%. The remaining inhabitants of the country are from other countries, constituting approximately 60% of the working people [16].
